gluten free New York! Friedman’s Lunch – pulled pork sandwich

Heather’s in New York for a couple of months for work, so I recently took a trip to visit, and we made sure to check out all of the gluten-free options NYC has to offer. First stop: Friedman’s Lunch in the Chelsea Market. Heather stumbled upon this place while checking out the market and was pleasantly surprised to see the menu was extremely gluten-free friendly.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, available on a gluten-free bun. Perfectly toasted, this tasted like the real thing. The gluten-free bread costs an additional $2.25, but it was absolutely worth it. Looking forward to my next visit so I can try more items on their menu.

great gluten-free options at Jimbos market in San diego

In the San Diego area? If so, you must check out Jimbo’s natural foods market. There are four locations (Del Mar, Escondido, Carlsbad, 4S Ranch).

They have a large variety of gluten-free fresh baked goods – think scones, cookies, muffins, loaves – and make great gluten-free sandwiches in their deli. I got this tuna melt that was excellent. Another nice thing is that everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful.

They also have a variety of other health and natural food products. For locations, check out their Web site: www.jimbos.com
