By Shaun

Welcome to our site! We’re just getting started. Shaun went gluten-free about four years ago. Since then, his twin-sister, Heather, has also gone off gluten. It’s challenging to avoid gluten, but it’s becoming easier every day as awareness grows.

Shaun is based in the Los Angeles area, while Heather is based in the San Francisco Bay Area–so, we’ve got California covered.

We’ll be looking to share recipes, restaurants, products and more, that make it easy for a younger person to live life on a gluten-restricted diet.

Hi Heather – I’m really excited about this. I don’t think I need to be gluten free, but I have some friends who will love this! Plus mochi is one of mine and Vasilis’ favorite things.

yum- I love mochi, too. I have a savory type of mochi from Whole Foods that I will be cooking up and posting to this blog…hopefully in the next week or so!

A co-worker of mine is a huge fan of doughnuts and has been craving them ever since she found out she had a gluten allergy. Do you guys know of any doughnut shops that carry gluten-free doughnuts?

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any gluten-free doughnut shops in the Bay Area – but, if she ever comes to LA, she can get doughnuts at Babycakes – they also have one in NYC!

Hi Heather and Shaun, The blog looks great! I’ve added it to our web site under Resources (Media/Local Blogs and Websites). Heather, could you please contact me about the Bay Area gluten-free leadership community?

Hi, Shaun and Heather! This is so cool! I’ve been doing the paleo diet for about a year and a half now– there is definitely something to it! I’ve gotten way into coconut milk for desserts, etc. Hope you guys are well, can’t wait to see your next article!

Hey Kami! I started CrossFit in December last year, and I tried paleo for a few months, but I lost a lot of weight, so I am back to eating rice and corn occasionally. I love coconut milk and oil. I have some products to review for the site that are great. Great to hear from you!
